Anderson Ranch is located in Snowmass Village, Colorado, a resort community 160 miles west of Denver.
Anderson Ranch is a place like no other. Artists of all levels and ages come here every summer for the opportunity to uncover, develop and stretch their creative spirits. They come for the faculty of renowned artists and gifted instructors and the supportive community that encourages experimentation and growth. They come for the state-of-the-art facilities and the beautiful and rustic setting. They come for unique hands-on learning opportunities offered in numerous disciplines enriched by slide lectures, exhibitions and critiques. Anderson Ranch strives to be a world leader in the growth and development of the visual arts, in the international dialogue that inspires common humanity through art making, and in the creation of a campus imbued with a spirit of community, challenge, support, exploration, innovation and discovery.
Ongoing
Anderson Ranch Arts Center, located in the inspirational setting of the Rocky Mountains, provides time and space to artists – from beginners to experienced practitioners -- to create, discuss and discover. Our programs are executed with warmth, humor and a spirit of camaraderie unique to the Ranch.
Through its programs, Anderson Ranch successfully implements a deeply held belief that for artists to explore their potential, fully equipped facilities, skilled, helpful and exemplary artistic staff, and cutting-edge technology must be available.
Through its year-round Workshop Programs, academic excellence in the visual arts is offered to participants at all levels. In addition, the Ranch offers opportunities for those pursuing the critical study of visual arts. The Workshops employ an accomplished and diverse faculty, expansive programmatic depth, and rigorous yet engaging dialogue. There are low student-faculty-staff ratios. Within its ability to do so, the Ranch is dedicated to allowing everyone’s artistic dreams to flourish, regardless of financial means.
The Anderson Ranch Residency Program fosters creative, intellectual and personal growth for emerging and established artists. Residents at the Ranch make significant contributions to the creation and exhibition of visual arts throughout the United States and beyond.
Through proper planning and resource deployment, Anderson Ranch maintains and improves its beautiful campus and inspirational setting with state-of-the-art-facilities.

Initiatives under Way
While its focus is on teaching visual arts and artist’s residencies, the Ranch is committed to a meaningful engagement with the local community. The Ranch is committed to constantly evolving its artistic programs and embracing the visual arts.
Through the Artists’ Residency Program, the Ranch offers fully supported residencies to emerging and established artists of recognized excellence from around the world to pursue their creative process without any expectations. An independent jury of established artists selects participants exclusively on the merit of their work, awarded only to those of exceptional ability within their field.
In its Public Events and Community Outreach Programs, the Ranch offers high quality visual art programming to the local community through presentations on its campus, in local schools, locations throughout the Roaring Fork Valley and other destinations. In addition, the Ranch engages in meaningful collaborations and partnerships with other organizations and individuals.
