At Anderson Ranch, we recognize human beings' lifelong need to develop personal creativity and to discover, learn and grow. We nurture and inspire imaginations of all ages, encouraging experimentation, intensive inquiry and creative production. Anderson Ranch is an international center for the creation of new work and untried art forms for leading artists of our time.

Artists come here to:

Anderson Ranch is located in Snowmass Village, Colorado, a resort community 160 miles west of Denver.

Anderson Ranch is a place like no other. Artists of all levels and ages come here every summer for the opportunity to uncover, develop and stretch their creative spirits. They come for the faculty of renowned artists and gifted instructors and the supportive community that encourages experimentation and growth. They come for the state-of-the-art facilities and the beautiful and rustic setting. They come for unique hands-on learning opportunities offered in numerous disciplines enriched by slide lectures, exhibitions and critiques. Participate in Our Programs


Summer Workshops
The Ranch has a long tradition of providing transformative educational experiences in the visual arts. From June - September, we offer more than 140 one- and two-week workshops for novices to professional artists, children to adults. We bring together an outstanding faculty of emerging and renowned artists and professional educators from all over the US and abroad. Over 20% of our students are on scholarships. Instruction covers a wide range of media including:

Photography and Digital Media Sculpture
Painting and Drawing Furniture Design and Woodworking
Printmaking Woodturning
Ceramics

January Studio Immersive
The Studio Immersive is a three-week program offered in January. It is designed as an inter-disciplinary opportunity to offer participants access to all of the Ranch's artistic staff, studios and facilities. Artists are encouraged to diversify and explore new mediums. Critical dialog with visiting artists and professional advice are offered to every participant. Field Expeditions
A series of workshops in some of the world's greatest destinations: Our field expeditions are learning adventures for artists, amateurs, and others who want to explore a new culture while advancing their craft and creating a new body of personal work...more


Artists Residencies
From October to April, the Artists Residency Program fosters creative, intellectual and personal growth for emerging and established visual artists. Free from everyday pressures, they are open to explore, take risks and pursue new projects and ideas using the Ranch's state-of-the-art facilities.
