We focus on operation of the camera, with an emphasis on components of a basic SLR and optical elements of picture making. This two-day workshop will explore the creation of molds to be used in your own art practice. We will take a close look at industrial materials and practices and use this information to better understand how molds can benefit an artist. Molds allow you to cast soft or liquid materials into a desired form. The resulting castings can be manipulated, combined with other forms, or multiples of the form can be used in sculptures. Students will leave the workshop with technical skills and the information needed to make molds and castings in their material of choice.
