CRITICAL DIALOG: Makin’ It

Date: Jun 14

Time(s): 7 – 9 PM

The term “starving artist” isn’t just a myth; most successful artists have struggled with financial hardship, balancing a studio practice with multiple jobs, and mountains of student loan debt in their quest to follow their dreams of becoming an artist. Emerging artists often wonder what it takes to “make it” in the art world, and this exciting program takes some of the mystery away, revealing through first-hand experience a unique pathway to a successful and meaningful art career. Moderated by Artistic Director, Elizabeth Ferrill, Esteban del Valle takes us on a journey through his experiences as a young art student, to gallery representation, to supporting himself as an artist, and answers your most burning questions about becoming a vital participant in the contemporary art world.
