Snowmass Village, CO – Nancy Wilhelms has been named Executive Director at Anderson Ranch Arts Center. “Nancy is a member of the Ranch family and has excellent business and leadership skills, as well as a background in fine arts.  She is a relationship-builder with a proven track record,” commented Ann Korologos, Chair, Board of Trustees.  “Nancy’s takes the helm as we head into an outstanding summer season,” said Korologos.

Wilhelms replaces Barbara Bloemink who is leaving the Ranch to pursue other opportunities.  “The Ranch is more prominent in the global art scene due to Barbara’s work in growing the summer Featured Artists Lecture Series that brings top contemporary artists to the Ranch and the Roaring Fork Valley,” commented Korologos.  “She has helped to further establish the Ranch’s reputation as a center for ideas and dialog in today’s art world.”

Starting June 1, Wilhelms will help the Ranch prepare to celebrate its 50th birthday in 2016, and lay the groundwork for an upcoming capital campaign to extend its presence in Aspen/Snowmass and the national and international arts communities.  “Nancy’s public and community relations skills will be invaluable,” said Korologos. Wilhelms will oversee all aspects of the Ranch, including the upcoming summer workshop programs,  community and special events, development activities and day-to-day operations.

Wilhelms has served as Director of Marketing and Communications at Anderson Ranch since summer, 2011.  Prior, she was president of WestGroupOne Marketing Communications, Inc., a firm she founded in 1982 serving national and international corporate clients.  She has served as press secretary to Nevada Governor Robert List, director of marketing for a Las Vegas hotel group, director of communications for Harnischfeger Corporation, a Fortune 500 company, and program manager for Milwaukee Summerfest.

Wilhelms holds a BA degree in fine arts from the University of Colorado – Boulder.  She also studied at Rhode Island School of Design.  Wilhelms is an accredited member of the Public Relations Society of America (PRSA), A photographer, her work has been published in Ralph Lauren Magazine, the New York Times and other publications.  She has recently exhibited at the Red Brick Gallery.  Wilhelms was the first woman photographer invited to exhibit at the Milwaukee Press Club.
