Hand Drawn: letterpress plates & monoprints

Tuition $995
Code R0706-21
This letterpress plate and monoprint workshop gives students the chance to explore a variety of mark-making strategies from tight lines to brushy washes. One learns how to create hand-drawn photopolymer relief plates using rubylith and cartography film, combining this with watercolor monoprinting. The blending of these techniques gives students the chance to experiment with mixing the more graphic and linear visual language of the photopolymer plates with the looser and more painterly marks of monoprinting. Students leave the workshop with a collection of prints that are evidence of the magic in their hands.
