VIRTUAL WORKSHOP
Figurative Collage: color, gesture & narrative

Kathy Liao

Tuition $595
Code D25W02-21

This dynamic, virtual collage workshop encourages students to explore different methods of storytelling through figurative gestures, thoughtful compositions and expressive colors. Participants draw gestures from life while they experiment with materiality, collage, color and composition. These studies, combined with personal imagery and reference photos, are then used to create figurative narratives. Class discussions, facilitated via video conferencing software, focus on the expressive qualities of color and the arresting power of composition. Playing with different kinds of image-making and building up surfaces are emphasized as ways to create eye-catching and unique collages. This workshop meets via Zoom Video Conferencing software (download free from Zoom.com). An Anderson Ranch staff member co-teaches the class and coordinates the online platform. Further details will be emailed to registrants.
