ANDERSON RANCH ARTS CENTER AWARDED $30,000 GRANT FROM THE NATIONAL ENDOWMENT FOR THE ARTS

Aspen/Snowmass, CO (April 22, 2019) —National Endowment for the Arts Acting Chairman Mary Anne Carter approved more than $27 million in grants as part of the Arts Endowment’s first major funding announcement for fiscal year 2019. Included in this announcement is an Art Works grant of $30,000 to Anderson Ranch Arts Center to support the 2019 & 2020 Artists-in-Residence and aid in the Ranch’s efforts to increase the accessibility and affordability of this core Ranch program. Art Works is the Arts Endowment’s principal grantmaking program. The agency received 1,605 Art Works applications for this round of grantmaking, and will award 972 grants in this category.

“The arts enhance our communities and our lives, and we look forward to seeing these projects take place throughout the country, giving Americans opportunities to learn, to create, to heal, and to celebrate,” said Carter.

“We are so grateful to the National Endowment for the Arts for awarding us this grant,” said Liz Ferrill of Anderson Ranch Arts Center. She continued, “The Artists-in-Residence program is one of the cornerstone offerings at Anderson Ranch. This funding allows us to make a difference in the lives of artists, by eliminating some of the financial barriers of entry. We look forward to the opportunity to offer this residency to an even wider array of artists, and look forward to seeing the positive impact on their lives and careers in the arts.”

Anderson Ranch is committed to ensuring that the Artists-in-Residence Program continues to serve the needs of today’s artists. With the National Endowment for the Arts’ support, the Artists-in-Residence Program will offer a reduced application fee from $65 to $30 and,for the first time in the Program’s history, offer merit-based travel assistance to selected participants.
