Explore the possibilities of translating physical objects into 3D models. Using photogrammetry, the science of extracting 3D data from photographs, students take photos of clay models, household objects, or articles of nature, and turn them into 3D models. We will cover the basics of manipulating models in CAD (computer aided design) software and preparing them for output. The course will culminate in a final project to be output on the digital fabrication equipment at Anderson Ranch and mailed back to students with shipping and materials covered by the studio fee.

Digital photography, CAD (computer aided design), photogrammetry, CAM (computer aided machining), 3D printer, CNC router, laser cutter.
