Transferring one material to another can be complicated and involved, or as simple as smacking one surface down on top of another. In this class, students learn the art of this tricky, but fascinating technique. Approaches and processes include: emulsion transfer, paper, parchment paper, contact and direct rubbing. The course also examines the difference between laser and inkjet transfers and when to use a paper transfer as opposed to an emulsion transfer. Photography, drawing and painting are incorporated.

Paint, digital images, found objects, organic objects, recycled art
