Delve into the technical and conceptual approaches to monotype printmaking using a wide variety of techniques and materials in this dynamic, mixed-media workshop. Students are guided through several exciting monotype techniques, such as reductive and additive inking, chine-collé, pastel transfer, multiple drops and layering of imagery. Individualized and experimental approaches to the medium are encouraged, as the magic of monotype is an excellent way to achieve highly personalized prints with eye-popping effects. Low- and non-toxic practices are emphasized and put into practice. Come away from this class with a series of one-of-a-kind monotypes to add to your portfolio.
