Instructor(s): Jean Miele

Tuition: $975
Studio Fee: $100
Registration Fee: $45

Concept:

Master the magic necessary to transform what is in front of the camera into a stunning photograph using the powerful tools of Adobe Lightroom and Adobe Photoshop. In this engaging workshop, students learn how to create stronger, more striking images. The instructor helps you figure out what is missing from your pictures, and provides valuable instruction in Lightroom, Photoshop and shooting techniques that help take your work to the next level. This is grown-up play-time for photographers. We make new friends, new pictures and work on whatever the next step is for each of us, together.

Media & Techniques:

This workshop emphasizes a balance of craft and spirit, camera work and “digital darkroom” technique, helping each student master the skills and vision necessary to create powerful images, and to access their unique voice as an artist.

Activities:

Classroom editing, processing and sharing photographs is balanced by field trips to make new photographs. On-location work emphasizes pre-visualization and camera skills. Lab studio time focuses on post-visualization and image processing, with individual attention and hands-on computer practice time. Group discussions are lively, friendly and encouraging.

Faculty:

Recognized for his finely crafted digital photographs, Jean (Gino) Miele’s prints have been exhibited in galleries from New York to Norway, and acquired by collectors worldwide. He is also internationally known as an educator whose “digital darkroom” workshops demystify Photoshop and empower students to realize their own photographic vision. Gino has taught for the International Center for Photography (ICP) in New York, Adobe Systems, Apple Computer and the Norwegian Fotografiakademiet.
