Expand upon your 3D modeling abilities in this introduction to Grasshopper, a visual programming language plugin for Rhinoceros 3D. Geared towards visual learners, Grasshopper is a powerful tool that offers better control, more complexity, and the ability to be dynamic within 3D design and modeling processes but requires no programming knowledge. This virtual workshop will teach you the basics of navigating the program and writing visual scripts, and give you the tools to increase the complexity of your designs as you learn to embed parametric relationships into your 3D models. Previous experience in Rhino is required to take this course.
Camila Friedman-Gerlicz grew up in Santa Fe, New Mexico and recently moved back this summer. After many years of studying abstract mathematics, she decided to pursue a career as an artist. Since this transition, mathematical concepts and way of thinking has become an integral part of her work, and she uses Rhino and Grasshopper to visualize and fabricate her work.
Additional Information: Group sessions will meet Mondays and Wednesdays from 4 – 5:30PM MST for three weeks.
