Painting is a direct and powerful way to start the process of letting our subconscious lead our creative flow. This course teaches how to elegantly combine divergent media (photos, acrylic, found and organic objects, etc.) into clear and utterly original new works. Students learn many different ways of painting as a way of making substrates that guide the image that follows. Using photographs, or any available material, students build their images, letting the original acrylic painting guide the process. Photographic processes that apply to image-making are presented, as well as correct cutting and adhesive procedures.

Paint, digital images, found objects, organic objects, recycled art

Holly Roberts has exhibited nationally and internationally and published three monographs of her work, including Holly Roberts, Holly Roberts: Works 1989-1999 and Holly Roberts: Works 2000-2009.
