Maximize the power of your iPhone and iPad as remarkable creative tools. In this fun and relevant workshop, participants explore the photographic capabilities of both devices, including the camera, darkroom and visual playground that allow you to capture and process images in the field, all with unprecedented color, depth and texture. Whether interested in composing “straight” images or creating more painterly effects, one leaves this workshop with an extensive tool kit of innovative visual techniques that simultaneously elevate and individualize your iPhone imagery.


iPhone and/or iPad, Select camera apps to capture, edit and catalog images, Layering and masking methods, Advanced editing and stylizing techniques, Printing, display and sharing options will be explored
and book creation


Dan Burkholder has a long history of looking beyond the photographic horizon to explore, teach and exhibit the next great thing in imaging. His book, iPhone Artistry (Pixiq Press 2012), is regarded as helping to launch the mobile photography revolution. the universe’s most comprehensive and fun how-to book for iPhone photographers.


Additional Information: Five day virtual classes generally meet Monday – Friday from 9-10:30AM (MST) for one to two hours of group class time via Zoom Video Conferencing software (download free from Zoom.com) and then have one-on-one sessions in the afternoons from Monday – Thursday 1-4PM.

An Anderson Ranch staff member co-teaches the class and coordinates the online platform. There can be a group critique Friday afternoon to wrap up the class. Further details will be emailed to registrants.
