Accessorize your artistic skills, and take an in-depth look at the art of jewelry making In this unique workshop. We explore jewelry from other countries and time periods, understand the different reasons people make and wear jewelry, and create our own pieces. We begin by sketching, researching and conversing to formalize our very own jewelry designs. Students then decide what type of jewelry they wish to make, such as earrings, pendants, bracelets or even a small metal piece you can use as a keychain or ornament. After that, we dive into learning metalsmithing techniques such as sawing, drilling, enameling and making connections while working with copper, silver, enamel and semi precious stone beads. Finally, we file, sand and polish our pieces to perfection. Students will take home jewelry ready to wear or to give to someone special!
