Discover the incredible and unique properties of paper clay as you push the extremes of form, process and edge in ceramic sculpture. Take all of your previous clay knowledge and dismantle it as you experiment with multiple firing and building techniques. Develop and refine your own personal voice through display, presentation of work, and critiques as you explore your personal concepts in this remarkable method. This class is about experimentation, it’s not about focusing on the final product. Students learn how to prepare their own paper clay, as well as work with commercially-prepared paper clay.
