Time: 9AM – 3PM
Nurture passion for photography through an atmosphere of exploration, practice and play in this dynamic workshop. Students examine how great photographs engage us visually, emotionally and intellectually. Image-making abilities are improved by focusing on both the technical aspects of a photograph and the ideas behind it. Participants work on storytelling, capturing the environment and digital image creation using Adobe Photoshop. Techniques to take better and more unique photos are discussed. Students learn to edit in Adobe Photoshop, retouch photos and discover ways to combine, blend and mix photographs together as well as view and discuss important photographs from the past and present.
Media & Techniques:
Students use a digital camera with manual exposure capabilities and a tripod as well as Adobe Photoshop to edit, process and combine images. There are excercises outside in the natural environment and in the studio with controlled lighting as well as on green screen.
Students learn digital camera functions, shooting skills and image processing. Students increase their knowledge of contemporary photography with in-class demonstrations, hands-on computer instruction and daily indoor and outdoor shooting projects.
