Kazaam! Pow! Varoom! This week we look at famous artists who were a part of the American Pop Art movement. We discover the Bandaid dot paintings of Roy Lichtenstein and his comic book imagery, Jim Dine’s energetic hearts, and Claes Oldenburg’s giant cloth sculptures of everyday objects. We take our inspiration from these modern masters to create our very own Pop Art pieces that reference the culture of today. Students use a wide range of artistic media – such as papier-mache, construction paper, paint, chalk, fabric and more – to create bold, bright and beautiful artistic creations.
