Examine and respond to what you see in this drawing workshop open to artists of all skill levels. Students make drawings from a live model, still life, personal objects/relics and natural surroundings. Formally approach drawing through exercises in line, contour, negative/positive space, value studies and composition. Conceptual intent is also explored through choosing personal subject matter and articulation through the immediate medium of drawing.
Media & Techniques:
Participants use pen and ink, charcoal, gouache, sumi and brush, pastel and graphite on paper.
Students look, draw and follow prompts to encourage higher awareness of their surroundings. There are also group discussions, slideshows and one-on-one feedback and guidance.
