Concept:

This class is aimed at image-makers of all kinds who would like to connect with the art of storytelling as well as find a durable and exciting purpose for their photography project by creating a book. As a group, we will explore the possibilities of the Lightroom Classic book module, the art of editing, sequencing and understanding the art of storytelling as well as the challenges of working within the frame of a page. Through this process, students will learn what it takes to photograph “for” a book. Each student will work on their project and get personalized critique and editing time. At the end of the class, I will guide you through creating a profile on the Blurb platform as well as ordering your finished book in paperback or digital form!

Faculty:

Stephanie de Rouge is a Franco-American photographer and bookmaker, expert in visual storytelling. She teaches at the International Center of Photography in New York as well as in various photography festivals. Her work has been featured in magazines and venues and collected around the world including The New York Times, The Guardian, Le Monde, Vogue, The Palais de Tokyo museum, Bibliotheque Nationale de France, Soho Photo Gallery and The Fine Arts Library of Harvard University.

Additional Information: This workshop will meet on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from January 11 through January 22 at 1PM – 4PM, MST via ZOOM.
