Set off on an exciting artistic path in an introductory course that explores the possibilities of metal, wood, found objects and plaster in making three-dimensional forms. We participate in fabricating processes associated with these materials along with discussions involving design basics and idea building. Students gain a strong foundation to establishing or continuing their own studio practices. This workshop focuses on basic safe tool and equipment use while understanding a variety of materials. Build a foundation for sculpture with four key materials in just five days.

Media & Techniques:

This workshop includes fabrication techniques involving steel, wood, found objects and plaster. Students weld steel, cut wood, pour plaster and connect objects.

The week includes daily lectures and demonstrations in addition to daily one-on-one and group discussions.
