Experiment with works on paper in this mixed-media workshop focused on developing perceptive drawing skills, while simultaneously exploring the combination of a variety of media. This workshop introduces safe, non-toxic methods in printmaking to combine with drawing that don’t require a press and that can be applied outside of the studio. Unexpected results occur with the use of familiar materials in unconventional ways and serve as a means of fostering new ideas.
Media & Techniques:
Multiple traditional and alternative methods in both drawing and printmaking are covered. Students learn frottage, image transfer, mediums and alternative drawing media. Staining and altering the paper surface, as well as learning how to push the boundaries of art materials are also covered.
The workshop includes several drawing exercises, demonstrations, specific planned lessons, one-on-one feedback with faculty and slide presentations.
