New for summer 2009, Anderson Ranch Arts Center is pleased to announce that it will be offering special weekly art workshops for participants in the Snowmass Recreation Center's summer camp.  Each Wednesday, campers will come to the Ranch and create an exciting new project while being exposed to other artistic activities.

The Adult Early Application period for the 2009 Summer Workshops runs from January 2 to January 23, 2009; the Children and Teens Early Application Period runs from January 2 to February 27, 2009. All requests received during the Early Application period are held until the closing date; enrollment in extremely popular workshops will be determined by lottery.

Each summer, Anderson Ranch offers more than 140 workshops taught by prominent artists and educators who share their skills and experience with more than 1,400 students. Workshops, which begin after Memorial Day and run through the end of September, range from two days to two weeks and encompass artists of all skill levels and experience. In field expeditions, artists learn, create and gather inspiration through contact with other cultures, landscapes and disciplines.

Anderson Ranch offers workshops in:

Students experience unprecedented growth in studio practice and self-perception, learning to approach life and art more creatively.Anderson Ranch has a long tradition of providing a transformative educational experience in the visual arts. In summer 2008, student surveys revealed:

  • 95% of our summer workshop participants were “extremely satisfied” with the Ranch campus and setting.
  • 86% were “extremely satisfied” with their overall experience,
  • 85% were “extremely satisfied” with the teaching ability of our faculty and interns,
  • 89% were extremely satisfied with the “overall value” of their summer workshop, and
  • 97% were returning students or were personally referred by friends.
