Conor King

DATES: July 13 – 17, 2015

SKILL LEVEL: Open to all

CONCEPT: Through an atmosphere of exploration, practice and play, this workshop provides an opportunity to discover and improve your digital photography skills. Great photographs engage us visually, emotionally, and intellectually. Improve your image making abilities by focusing on both the technical aspects of a photograph and the ideas behind a photograph, while working on projects such as storytelling, the environment, and abstraction. Learn more about your digital camera as we discuss techniques that allow you to take better and more unique photos. In Adobe Lightroom we edit and retouch photos and discover ways to manage and organize your images. Throughout the workshop we view and discuss important photographs from the past and present.

MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students use a digital camera with manual exposure capabilities and tripod; Adobe Lightroom to import, edit, and process images.

ACTIVITIES: We learn digital camera functions, shooting skills and image processing. Students increase their knowledge of contemporary photography with in-class demonstrations, hands-on computer instruction and daily outdoor shooting projects.
