Speaker
Paul Briggs
Paul Briggs’ signature ideas about art objects as material shapes began as an undergraduate. Primarily a slab-builder, his pinching technique takes inspiration from the idea that “nature makes no aesthetic mistakes.” Briggs earned a PhD from Penn State and an MFA from MassArt. He teaches ceramic art at Alfred University.
Yoonmi Nam
Yoonmi Nam received her BFA from Hongik University in Korea and MFA from RISD. Her work considers cross-cultural experience and a sense of transience through prints, sculptures, and installations. She is a professor of art at the University of Kansas in Lawrence, and Chair of the International Mokuhanga Association.
