Artist Talks Ongoing |
The year-round Anderson Ranch Artists' Lecture Series has featured the diverse points of view of Elizabeth Murray and Julie Mehretu, Vic Muniz and Laurie Anderson. Lawrence Rinder previewed the controversial 2002 Whitney Biennial, the American Effect here and Robert Storr presented an in-depth look at the art and politics of the 2007 Venice Bienniale. Japanese National Treasure, Takashi Nakasato creates museum-quality work here each year, and Robert Irwin, Roberta Smith, and Michael Govan have shared their passionate beliefs in the important and changing role of the museum in contemporary culture.
In addition to the important art centers of the U. S. Anderson Ranch draws artists from London, Berlin, Seoul, Tokyo, Mexico City and Melbourne—our international presence expands each season, furthering a vision of art as a medium of both change and exchange. From ancient wood firing techniques to robotics and interactive web projects, it‘s all happening at Anderson Ranch.
In the summer, Anderson Ranch hosts the Evening with the Artists series with talks by artists every Sunday and Tuesday night evening after dinner at 7 pm. In addition, there are lunchtime Art Talks scheduled periodically at 12:30 pm throughout the summer season. In the winter, artist lectures are scheduled throughout the season.
Unless otherwise noted, all talks take place in the Schermer Meeting Hall. Talks are free and open to the public.
