CONCEPT: Discover the limitless possibilities of digital photography and immerse yourself in the scenic beauty of Colorado! For beginners or those looking to enhance their basic photography skills, this workshop introduces the technical aspects of digital photography and the concepts behind photographic images. Learn skill building, creative picture making, editing and evaluating images, and achieve a thorough understanding of optimal camera controls for shooting styles. Instruction includes apertures, shutters, equivalent exposures, using available light, portraiture and conceptual topics. Encounter an atmosphere of exploration, practice and play that appeals to those new to digital photography or anyone interested in fully exploring more functions. All levels have the opportunity to take pictures of the amazing locales Colorado has to offer.

MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students use digital cameras with manual exposure capabilities and Adobe Lightroom to import, edit and print images.

ACTIVITIES: We demonstrate digital camera functions, shooting, image processing and printing. Demos and lectures are complemented by daily field trips to explore some of the Rocky Mountains’ most beautiful areas.

FACULTY: Rick Dailey is the Studio Coordinator of Photography and New Media at Anderson Ranch. He received his M.F.A. from the University of South Florida. Rick’s work is exhibited nationally. www.rickfdailey.com
