Anderson Ranch offers inspiring art classes and creative workshops for youth ages 4-17, introducing young artists to the joy of making, experimenting, and discovering their unique creative voices. Located in the Rocky Mountains of Colorado, children can experiment within this beautiful environment to make new discoveries and connect with their creativity. Through hands-on art-making and collaborative experiences, young artists develop confidence, creative problem-solving skills, and a deeper appreciation for contemporary art.

Built with Kids in Mind
These programs offer hands-on opportunities for kids to explore drawing, painting, ceramics, sculpture, mixed media, and printmaking within the dedicated classroom of the children’s building. Led by experienced teachers and artists, these engaging classes encourage curiosity and are custom-built to make art exciting, accessible, and fun for children of all ages and experience levels.
Creative Explorations for Teens
Our teen art-making workshops are led by experienced artists and educators. These engaging programs are held in Ranch studios rather than the children’s building and encourage experimentation with new equipment and techniques, creative problem-solving, and artistic growth while giving teens the opportunity to work independently and alongside other young artists.

Spring Art Break

Join for a single day or the whole week! The Shape Shifters! Squares, spirals, and everything in between - this week, we build our own world out of pure geometry! We experiment with pattern, and symmetry, folding paper into geometric pop-up sculptures, painting bold shape-based compositions, and constructing 3D forms from cardboard and string. We look at how artists and architects use shapes to build everything from mosaics to skyscrapers, then design our creations. Along the way, we play with colour, balance, repetition to discover just how much a simple shape can do. By the end of the week, we’ve transformed basic geometry into a gallery of wildly imaginative art!
