Anderson Ranch Arts Center in Snowmass recently launched the new Marie Figge Wise Master Printer-in-Residence fund and position, which will help maintain its robust Printmaking and Editions program.

The gift was provided by the William and Marie Wise Family Foundation, according to a press release.

“For more than 50 years, the William and Marie Wise Family Foundation has been committed to expanding opportunity through education and the arts,” Marie and Bill Wise said in the release. “We could not think of a better way to pursue such objectives than to support Anderson Ranch. This gift to the Printmaking and Editions program is an investment in artists, their ability to create, to experiment, and to share their work with the world.”

The Wises added, “By strengthening the foundation of this program, we hope to ensure its vitality for generations to come and to contribute meaningfully to the broader arts community.”

Since 1978, artists have visited Anderson Ranch’s Patton Print Shop to experiment with their work and blend traditional printmaking techniques with advanced technologies, according to the release. The new position adds to the print shop’s legacy and sets the printmaking program up for continued success. The Master Printer-in-Residence contributes to the program as both a seasoned expert and a creative collaborator.
