Posted In: Furniture and Woodworking

Jason Schneider

DATES: June 1 – 5, 2015

SKILL LEVEL: Open to all

CONCEPT: Build confidence in the woodshop as you master the basic tools and techniques. Learn how to safely choose the right wood, the right tool and the right joint. Students with no experience in woodworking will get a solid grounding in the field, and those who have been away from the wood shop for a while can refresh their skills. Either way, count on leaving inspired to tackle new challenges in the wood shop.

MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students will handle wood, paint and finishing products, using traditional joinery and safe machinery practices.

ACTIVITIES: We learn through hands-on practice and step-by-step skill-building exercises. Instructor demos inspire the group and slide lectures offer personalized guidance in the studio.

FACULTY: Jason Schneider received his M.F.A. in Furniture Design from San Diego State University. He was the Woodworking Program Coordinator at Anderson Ranch for 10 years. His work has been published in many books and magazines. He exhibits his work nationally. www.jasonschneiderfurniture.com
