FACULTY LECTURE: MICHAEL SHERRILL AND WILLIE OSTERMAN
March 26, 2019
Event will take place in Schermer Meeting Hall and is free and open to the public.
Michael Sherrill is a self-taught artist who uses clay, metal and glass. His work explores the intersection between human and material and where they meet in the handmade object. Since his humble beginnings throwing traditional folk pottery, to his abstract ethereal botanicals, Michael challenges you to question what you see.
Willie Osterman earned an MFA in Photography and is the chair of Fine Art Photography at Rochester Institute of Technology. He is the recipient of a Fulbright Scholars Award. His work has been exhibited internationally and is in collections including the Alinari Archive, Florence, the George Eastman Museum, the Portland Museum of Art and the City Art Museum of Zagreb, Croatia.
