Each participant receives an assigned studio space, orientation and access to equipment, as well as some morning group demonstrations and / or critiques.

This program affords artists the experience enjoyed by national and international artists who access our state-of-the-art studios. Participants may expand their practices, take artistic risks, try new media or complete works for exhibition.

*Studios are open 24 hours a day with limited use of equipment due to safety requirements.

    IMPORTANT DETAILS:

    • Students will be responsible for all material costs associated with their projects.
    • Participants who register for multiple consecutive weeks will gain access to the studios on weekends (with the exception of the machine rooms due to safety constraints.)
    • Private dorm rooms are available at Anderson Ranch for one, two or three weeks for an additional fee; click here to view January 2025 lodging options.

    Faculty

    Lindsey Yeager

    Studio Coordinator, Paint and Printmaking

Fueled by a need to find closure in a deteriorating world, Wisconsin-born Lindsey Yeager paints and illustrates connections between society and nature, between human and animal, translating and reframing human contexts into fearful, raw, and feral allegories. Lindsey received a BFA in New Studio Practice and Illustration from Milwaukee Institute of Art & Design in 2021 and she went on to win two Society of Illustrators awards and participate in the 2021-22 cycle of Plum Blossom Initiative’s Bridge Work residency. Her work has been shown at Var Gallery, Mana Contemporary, Soft Times Gallery, Museum of Wisconsin Art, and Society of Illustrators, among others. Lindsey is represented by Var Gallery in Milwaukee.

    Printmaking

Discover the exciting possibilities of this historically rooted medium. Our Printmaking program fosters a supportive studio atmosphere where artists of all levels have the freedom to experiment and learn new techniques. Summer printmaking workshops, taught by accomplished artists and educators, offer a fresh take on the medium, mixing traditional processes with experimental attitudes.

Anderson Ranch’s Patton Printmaking Studio is clean, spacious, and outfitted with a variety of presses and equipment to accommodate screen printing, relief, intaglio, monoprinting, bookmaking, mokuhanga, and lithography. Students have access to individual work tables, wall space, rags, hand tools, computers with Adobe software, wifi, printing, scanning, and projection capabilities.

At Anderson Ranch, the process of printmaking honors tradition, innovation, community and collaboration. We invite you to explore, experiment and expand your visual expression in this captivating environment.

Anderson Ranch is happy to extend a tuition discount* in summer one- or two-week adult printmaking workshops** for SGC International members at the advocate membership level or above. Please email reg@andersonranch.org upon registering with your SGCI membership information and we will apply the discount to your tuition. You are also welcome to call 970-924-5089 to register. *Since the welcome dinner and lunches are included in workshop tuition (at a cost of $130 per week), a 20% discount is applied after subtracting the cost of these meals. **Please note this discount must be approved upon registering and cannot be applied retroactively. SGCI discount does not apply to Advanced Mentored Studies programs or Destination Workshops, nor can it be combined with any other discount, scholarship or special offer.

Students are encouraged to work beyond the first layer of printed imagery to create a new body of work that extends in size and has no technical limitations. With a focus on color, shape, line, and pattern, the goal of this workshop is to further each student’s image vocabulary using printmaking and collage.
