Caroline Hanson

DATES: June 22 – 26, 2015

Ages: 7 – 9 / 1pm – 4pm

Join us as we discover the world of robotics and programming using the Lego WeDo platform! Students design, construct and program autonomous robots by using Lego parts, sensors, motors, and Lego WeDo Software. We investigate basic engineering and mechanical design principles while programming their robot to perform simple tasks. When we are not working to program our robots, we use our imaginations to dream up architectural structures and creative story lines for our LEGO creations!

CAROLINE HANSON has been an educator for more than 23 years, combining her humanities background with a passion for STEM education to create enriched classroom experiences using LEGO Mindstorms robotics, WeDo, and hands-on problem-solving activities. She currently teaches at Aspen Middle School, coaches FIRST LEGO League teams, coordinates a regional robotics tournament, and serves on the LEGO Education Advisory Panel as a middle grade educator.
