Opening Reception August 20 from 5-6PM
Curated by Ed Kashi and James Estrin
The digital age has given documentary photographers and photojournalists new ways to tell stories with greater authorship and control. This exhibition features work by photographers who studied for three years under the guidance of Ed Kashi of VII Photo and James Estrin of the New York Times. Their coursework focused on how to create a personal documentary project. Their ultimate goal was to find a subject that speaks to a personal passion, document it in a unique visual style, then disseminate the work. The group used new technologies to be more effective storytellers, including social media, transmedia, virtual reality and digital video.
