Gallery Exhibition: Use My Imagination
Jan 7 - Mar 27, 2026
Patton-Malott Gallery
Featured artist and guest curator, Brad Reed Nelson, has been developing the concept for this exhibition since 2018. His vision takes a single form and deconstructs it down to a raw outline. Once an outline, he uses the lines to create grids of color. The result is a visual language defined by soft corners, line, and color that feels integrated, familiar, and collaborative. Brad Reed Nelson invited Sam Harvey, Jordan Kepler, Savanna LaBauve, and Claire Wright, artists he admires, to respond to these ideas in the exhibition with their own artworks.
Featured Artists
Sam Harvey
Sam Harvey is a ceramic artist in Aspen, CO. Sam received his MFA from New York State College of Ceramics at Alfred University in 2001. His work is included in many public and private collections, including the American Museum of Ceramic Art in California and the Brooklyn Museum of Art. He is the owner and director of Harvey Preston Gallery in Aspen. He received the prestigious 2019 USA Fellowship Award, recognizing the most compelling artists working and living in the United States
Jordan Kepler
Based in the Roaring Fork Valley, Jordan Kepler is a blacksmith and knife maker with a decade of hands-on experience at the forge. He has spent the last 10 years shaping steel into knives built for work, beauty, and a lifetime of use. In 2021, he took home the championship title on the TV series Forged in Fire—a moment that pushed his craft to the next level and deepened his dedication to precision and artistry. Every blade he makes today carries that same commitment: forged with intention, finished with care, and built to be used.
Savanna LaBauve
Savanna LaBauve is a multidisciplinary artist, designer, and detail seeker with a primary focus on clay-based work. She earned her BFA in Studio Arts with concentrations in ceramics and painting/drawing from Louisiana State University in 2017. Following a two-year ceramic residency completed in 2019, Savanna has collaborated with various artists and arts organizations on Colorado’s Western Slope. Passionate about supporting the creative vitality of her community in Carbondale, CO, she actively seeks opportunities to nurture its artistic spirit. Savanna is a core member of the MudTies Ceramic Collective and was one of six recipients of the prestigious 2023-2024 Aspen Art Museum Fellowship. She currently works out of Studio for Arts & Works, a space shared by over 25 makers across different mediums. Here, she explores the power of multiples, refines her distinctive mark-making language, and delves into the subtleties of a limited color palette.
Brad Reed Nelson
Brad Reed Nelson is an artist and inventor who has lived in the Roaring Fork Valley for over 20 years. He runs a furniture company called Board By Design. Nelson’s pieces are exhibited nationally and internationally, including in the collection of the Sam Maloof Museum in Rancho Cucamonga, CA.

Largely self-taught, with a BA from the University of New Mexico and additional training with European masters in traditional restoration, she specializes in artful furniture repair, bespoke pieces, and sustainable design. Working with both new and reclaimed materials, Claire brings heirloom quality and environmental stewardship to every project.
