Community Engagement and Dialogue
Join us for a conversation in Schermer Meeting Hall at Anderson Ranch Arts Center with Visiting Artist Dyani White Hawk.
Visiting Artist lectures are free, open to the public, and available in person or via livestream.
Oren Pinhassi (b. 1985, Tel Aviv, Israel) is a New York-based artist whose sensuous sculptures and immersive installations explore the relationship between the human body and the spaces we inhabit. Working primarily with sand, plaster, burlap, and welded steel, Pinhassi transforms familiar objects and architectural forms into anthropomorphic sculptures that blur the boundaries between body, object, and environment. His work considers vulnerability, desire, fluidity, and new possibilities for coexistence, inviting viewers into spaces that challenge conventional ideas of public and private life. Pinhassi received his B.Ed.F.A. from Beit-Berl College, Hamidrasha School of Art, in 2011 and his MFA from Yale University in 2014. His work has been exhibited internationally, including at the Chicago Architecture Biennial, ICA Philadelphia, Kölnischer Kunstverein, and Petah Tikva Museum of Art, and is held in collections including GAMeC Museum of Modern Art, KADIST, and Palazzo Monti.
The Visiting Artists program is a core part of the Anderson Ranch Arts Center experience, welcoming contemporary artists across disciplines to work on campus through residencies and special projects. Artists receive dedicated time, space, and technical support to develop new work and advance their practice. Visiting artists engage with students and residents through studio visits, critiques, and public lectures, creating a meaningful exchange that enriches the Ranch community and the broader public.
