Drawing from the Figure
In this workshop, students explore various drawing media and techniques to study relevant figure drawing topics across contemporary arts. Students develop their creative expression and professional practices through individual projects in the classroom. Different figure-drawing approaches from classical proportional drawing to image layering and collaging are studied to create visual narratives. Playing with different kinds of image-making and building up surfaces are emphasized as ways to create eye-catching and unique figurative oeuvres. On the last day, students have an opportunity to create a self-directed project.
