Students are new to photography and new media and have no formal training in photography, video, multimedia or animation. Students have basic computer literacy.

Photography students have a basic understanding of photography principles and technology and are comfortable using an SLR camera in manual mode. New Media students have a basic understanding of video, multimedia or animation software. Students have basic computer skills and are comfortable using a Macintosh computer.

Photo Compositing with Photoshop, Firefly, and Generative AI

Create unique photo composites using generative AI in Adobe Photoshop and in Adobe Firefly (Adobe's standalone generative AI web application), along with traditional Photoshop compositing techniques. Students learn how to use generative AI in Adobe Firefly and Photoshop to create objects, replace background elements, and retouch existing photographs. After combining all the elements into unique photo composites, students learn how to use masks, blend modes, adjustments, and other compositing features in Photoshop. In addition to daily lessons, there is plenty of time to explore and experiment with the magic of generative AI in Photoshop and Firefly.
