Collage is a wonderful and accessible art form that can be mastered by all, from the novice to the accomplished artist. In this exploratory workshop, we merge the expressive activity of making marks and lines informed by observation with the deliberate application of collage materials to create complex and visually engaging works of art. Experimentation is encouraged with an emphasis on narrative, composition, color, pattern, and the use of collage as a design element. Students use collage, paint, and a variety of materials to create unique mixed-media works that express personal stories with symbolic meaning.
