Seating Arrangements: Tables, Benches and Chairs
This workshop explores tables and seating forms for use both indoors and out. From sculptural to contemporary, from frivolous to functional, from light to leviathan, students discuss all aspects of furniture design. Innovative joinery techniques for working with laminated parts, vacuum-formed, steam-bent or shaped forms are considered. Structural and comfort requirements are discussed for each project. Storage space or secret compartments could even be included in the work.
