Scholarships and College Credit

Scholarship Application Procedure

Scholarship applications for children, teens, and adults will be accepted on a rolling basis.

Most scholarships cover part or all of the tuition, whereas the registration fee, studio fee, housing, meals, travel and supplies are the responsibility of the student. When applying, please indicate up to three (3) workshop choices you are willing to take; adults should also indicate any housing preferences.

Applicants for adult workshops apply via Slideroom, which has a $10 fee to apply; you will be asked to provide a statement addressing your artistic merit, potential for artistic development through our programs, and financial need. There is targeted funding for graduating high school seniors and currently-enrolled undergraduate students; if you qualify, you must check the appropriate box on the online application form in order to be considered. Applications are reviewed by a team of Anderson Ranch artistic staff to assess qualifications. Adults who are awarded a scholarship will be asked to submit a $500 deposit to accept the award.

Please use the online form when applying for children’s or teen workshops; there is no fee to apply. The families of children and teens who are awarded scholarships will be asked to pay the remaining balance that is not covered by the scholarship.

Scholarships are very competitive, and there is no guarantee of acceptance. If you wish to take a specific workshop, and your attendance is not dependent upon receiving a scholarship, we encourage you to register for the workshop rather than submitting a scholarship application. Some workshops fill up fast, and this is the best way to guarantee your attendance.

If you are awarded a scholarship, your account will be credited for the scholarship amount. However, all students, regardless of scholarship status, will be required to pay workshop and housing deposits at the time of registration. If you cancel, cancellation fees will be applied.

Applications for scholarships must be submitted by February 12, 2024, via our online application systems. Applicants who apply by the deadline will be notified by March 12, 2024. Applications that are submitted after February 12, 2024, will be considered only if space and funding permit. To be considered for a scholarship, please submit your information via our online Workshop Scholarship Form.

Anderson Ranch is dedicated to offering opportunities to promising artists and increasing access to our programs for a diverse group of participants.

Student/Teacher Discounts

Full-time undergraduate and graduate students, K-12 teachers and college professors are welcome to apply for a 50% tuition discount, which is offered on a standby, space-available basis in select workshops and may not be combined with other discounts or offers. Please contact the registrar’s office at 970-924-5059 or reg@andersonranch.org to see if the workshop you are interested in qualifies for this discount. If it does, then you will be asked to submit documentation of your current status as a student or teacher plus a deposit (unless it is within 60 days of the start of the workshop, in which case payment is due in full). The Center and Destination workshops are not included in this offer.

Scholarship/Partnership Program with Colleges & Universities

Anderson Ranch partners with more than 60 colleges and universities to award scholarships to upper level aspiring artists. The Scholarship/Partnership Program brings talented students to the Ranch who might not otherwise afford to come here, and results in a high level of dialog and interaction in our workshops.

Nurturing the talent and creativity of artists who participate through our Scholarship/Partnership Program is core to Anderson Ranch Art Center’s mission. If you are an art student interested in this program, please inquire with your school’s art department faculty.
