Discover the Workshop
This teen workshop is a practical exploration of electronic sensors, processors and actuators in the context of interactive art and design. Each teen gains an understanding of electricity, circuit design, mechanisms, sensors, actuators, microcontroller programming, custom interface design and integrating electronics with software.
The course is structured around a series of tutorials and exercises, culminating in a final project. Open-source hardware and software (Arduino) will be taught along with the fundamentals of electronic circuitry.

Meet Your Faculty
Ivana Dama
Ivana Dama is an artist and researcher holding an MFA in Sculpture from Yale University. Her multidisciplinary work spans audio-video installations, robotics, web projects, and music performances, with a focus on the nonverbal expression of traumatic experiences through sound studies and sonic memories. Dama’s practice explores the relationship between sound and vibrations at various scales, from the microscopic to the architectural and satellite. She recently joined Columbia University’s MFA program in Visual Art as a professor.

Registration is on a first-come, first-served basis. Children must be the correct age for the workshop as of the first day of class. Registration is confirmed once parents receive confirmation by email, and the online waiver form must be completed before the first workshop.
Payment: Children’s and teen workshops are charged in full at the time of registration.
Cancellations: With at least 60 days’ notice, we will refund your payments less a cancellation fee of $150 per workshop. Cancellations made within 60 days of the start of the workshop will result in a full forfeiture.
Students attending all-day workshops are asked to bring a sack lunch and a snack.
