Wonderful World of Eric Carle

Jun 27 - Jul 1, 2022

9AM - 12PM

Concept

Explore the wild world of characters created by amazing children’s book author and illustrator, Eric Carle. Celebrate classic books like The Hungry Caterpillar, The Grouchy Ladybug and many more! What makes Eric Carle’s characters so special? How can we mimic his legendary style to create unique artworks of our own? We explore these questions as we craft our favorite real and imaginary animals in a variety of mediums including paint, watercolors, oil pastels, crayons, plaster caste material and others!

Math in Motion: Art and Patterns

Hallie McQueeny

Tuition $600
Code K0710-26

Uncover the hidden shapes that make our world magical! In this imaginative workshop, we dive into the amazing connection between math and art, exploring spirals, waves, and repeating patterns found in nature and design. We draw colorful Fibonacci spirals inspired by seashells and sunflowers, experiment with balance and harmony through golden ratio collages, and print bold patterns using stamps and natural objects. We paint branching fractal forests, design playful tessellations that fit together like puzzles, and create swirling ripple paintings that capture the motion of water and sound. From simple shapes to dazzling designs, we discover how geometry sparks creativity. At the end of the week, we take home a collection of vibrant artworks that show math isn’t just numbers—it’s living, moving art!
