SKILL LEVEL: II

CONCEPT: Working in square or rectangular standard formats, we explore multiple methods of image creation, to be used together to build various textures and layers in monoprints.

MEDIA & TECHNIQUES: Students use Intaglio-based techniques; students make silk collagraph plates, sandpaper plates, carborundum aquatint plates, and Plexiglas drypoint plates.

ACTIVITIES: We begin each day with platemaking demos, followed by individual working time and press time with faculty and interns.

FACULTY: Sue Oehme is the owner of Oehme Graphics, based in Steamboat Springs, CO. She has been a master printer for 25 years, working at Tyler Graphics, Riverhouse Editions and her own studio. She is also a mixed-media artist. www.oehmegraphics.com
