Visiting Artist Skyler Maggiore
May 10 - May 21, 2027
Sky Maggiore is an artist and educator from rural New York whose practice explores identity, safety, and visibility through photography, moving images, alternative photographic processes, glass casting, and installation. He received an MFA from the University of Arkansas in 2023 and a BFA from SUNY Purchase College in 2016. His honors include a 2026 Showcasing Open Space through Accessible Adventure Project Grant, an Artist 360 Mid-America Arts Alliance Grant in 2022, and a Windgate Accelerator Grant in 2023. His artistic and educational research focuses on large-format and experimental photography. Maggiore lives in Lawrence, Kansas, where he works as a full-time photography lecturer and creates supportive opportunities for local TGNC community members.
The Visiting Artists program is a core part of the Anderson Ranch Arts Center experience, welcoming contemporary artists across disciplines to work on campus through residencies and special projects. Artists receive dedicated time, space, and technical support to develop new work and advance their practice. Visiting artists engage with students and residents through studio visits, critiques, and public lectures, creating a meaningful exchange that enriches the Ranch community and the broader public.
