The Art of Mexico

Rae Lampe

Tuition $425
Code K0507-21

Join this culturally rich workshop where students create and design art projects based on traditional Mexican folk arts including pottery, weaving and paper crafts. While learning some basic Spanish, students look at various examples of artwork from regions in Mexico as well as their historic significance. Students then create their own artworks inspired by “alejibres” which are whimsical wooden toys, “hojalata” or tin artwork, “papel picado” which is a cut paper technique— plus ceramics and more! On Friday we celebrate with a piñata for our friends and families to enjoy.
