Fractals: Paper, Wood, Laser
Shoshanna Weinberger
Tuition $1,150
Code S0808-23
In this workshop, students construct freestanding and/or hanging sculptural forms inspired by fractals found in nature, using a variety of materials and tools such as archival board, wood and a laser cutter. Organic matter and forms such as flora/fauna, parametric architecture, structural systems, and geometry serve as source material with the potential for abstraction. The workshop emphasizes the exploration of scale shifts as we explore the geometry/repeating patterns of trees, snowflakes, pine cones, succulents, and leaf veins.
