Sculpted, Patterned and Sewn
In this workshop students learn several workflows for translating a handmade clay sculpture into a digital model and then back into a physical object that is augmented, transposed into new materials, changed in scale, and edited in appearance. These workflows are geared toward sculptors with an interdisciplinary approach and an interest in learning fundamentals of 3D design and animation. The workshop familiarizes students with CNC machining, laser cutting, vector plotting machines, 3D photogrammetry, 3D model topology, UV mapping, Autodesk Maya, Autodesk Mudbox, and SculptGL.
