This workshop examines the human body as a form of expression and focuses on alternative ways of slab building and glazing. Clay has a rich history as both a functional tool and a medium for sculpture. It is also a great medium for recording an artist's gestures and emotions. Participants are encouraged to develop their own artistic voice and explore different ways of connecting their ideas with their individual work. Through in-class demonstrations, slide lectures, and artists discussions, students explore new ways of using clay and glaze. Students gain a fuller understanding of the use of ceramics as a visual language.
