Let's build an imaginary world together! With the help of friends, we create houses, skyscrapers, planes, trains and so much more! In this workshop, we learn about different types of architecture and design styles and incorporate those into our own creations. We use mixed-media materials to bring our worlds together, like cardboard, paint, clay, foam, and glue to make a city filled with whatever they can imagine! Whether your world is in the deep of the ocean, on the moon in space, or in the green aspen trees,get ready to plan, design, and build!

Take art to the next level by becoming a piece of art yourself! In this workshop, students create fantastical masks and costumes out of a variety of mixed media. Papier-mâché, fuzzy and patterned fabric, and even plain old cardboard are used to spur inspiration and creativity. Students also learn introductory sewing and mending techniques. On Friday, students work their wearable art on the runway in a dazzling presentation to friends and family.

Take a journey through the world of art, and then make some of your own in this lively weeklong workshop. We are inspired by some of the great and influential artists of our time. Each day we focus on a different artist with a comprehensive look at their style and then spend the day creating our own unique artworks. We learn about famous artists such as Matisse, Picasso, Kusama, Klee, Kahlo, Dali, and many more! Students create a beautiful mixed-media mosaic using Klee’s colors and shapes, a large collaborative collage inspired by Matisse using his geometric abstract style, and a self-portrait expressing emotion like Picasso and Frida. We also get jazzy with Pollock as we paint to the sound of music. Join us on this amazing artistic adventure!

Finally, students work their wearable art on the runway in a dazzling presentation to friends and family at the end of the week. This workshop is taught by a bilingual art educator who will support our English and Spanish speaking participants through the use of both languages during instruction.  El taller será dado por un profesor de artes profesional que apoyará tanto a nuestros participantes hispanoparlantes como a los que hablan inglés haciendo uso de ambos lenguajes durante la clase. El mundo del arte que se puede llevar puesto Lleva el arte al siguiente nivel y conviértete en una obra de arte en este taller en el que los estudiantes crearán máscaras y disfraces fantásticos con una variedad de medios mixtos. Se utilizarán papel maché, telas difusas y estampadas e incluso cartón viejo; para estimular la inspiración y la creatividad. Por último, al final de la semana los alumnos pondrán en escena su arte que se puede llevar puesto en una deslumbrante presentación ante sus amigos y familiares.
